Susan
Hyon is a NYC-based actor. This past summer, Susan directed and
performed in Diana Son's R.A.W. ('Cause I'm a Woman) at the Clemente
Soto Velez Cultural Center's Milagro Theater. She played Mr. Fag in The
Rivals at The Abingdon Theater with Titans Theatre Co.
Shakespeare roles include Nerissa in The Merchant of Venice at the Greenwich St. Theater, and Henry VI in the Henry VI Chronicles at Shakespeare & Co. in Lenox, MA. Susan has performed in various staged readings with the Juggernaut Theatre Company's The First 100 Years: The Professional Female Playwright symposium.
Susan
has performed in various audience-participation extravaganzas with the
Faux-Real Theatre Company at Central Park's Belvedere Castle, the Tall
Ship Peking at the South St. Seaport, and Chashama on 42nd St. She
spent a season with The Shadowbox Theatre Co., performing as an actor,
singer, dancer and shadow puppeteer.
Currently an MFA acting student at Columbia University, Susan has also trained at the William Esper Studios in NYC. Susan speaks Japanese and Korean and has studied traditional Kyomai dance and calligraphy in Kyoto. She was a Fulbright ETA scholar in Kwangju, S. Korea.
