
Kyle
Knauf recently completed his Masters’ Thesis, which
transferred
from Columbia University for a limited co-produced Off-Broadway run at
Classic Stage Company. This “Moliere Cycle”
included his
roles in Scapin- Geronte and Tartuffe-Cleante. His other Off-Broadway
credits include: Secret History of the Lower East Side, En Garde Arts,
directed by Matt Wilder, The Obie winning production of Benten Kozo as
Benten Kozo, BAT Theater Co., directed by Jim Simpson. Kyle has
continually studied since his initial introduction to the craft
learning from Kristin Linklater, Andre Serban, Ann Bogart and the Citi
company, Niky Wolz, Caymichael Patten, Rosemarie Tischler and Marcie
Philips in New York and Ron Sossi of the Odyssey Theater and Margie
Haber in Los Angeles. Taking classes from the American Classical
Theater, Duke City Actors Studio and Theater Grottesco.
Some New York credits include: Love is in the Air NYC Fringe Festival
05’, Mac Wellman's Cleveland as Panda Hands, The Flea
Theater. He
was also a member of: the Present Company (working the 2nd &
3rd
annual N.Y. International Fringe Festivals), Artistic Director John
Clancy; the BAT Theater Company under the Artistic Direction of Jim
Simpson and an original member of Reverie Productions, Artistic
Director Megan Condit. Kyle can be seen in the films:
“Katrina” and “American
Bohemia.” Some films
you need to look a little more closely to find him in are:
“Moonlight Mile”, “Cradle Will
Rock” and
“Men in Black II.” Also he co-wrote with Megan
Condit and
produced the short film The Weaver. For theater in Los Angeles he
performed in Quantum Theater Company's Bi-lingual Romeo Y Julieta as
Tybalt and other characters, directed by Tanya Kane-Parry;
Beekersmitten's Production of The Seagull as Medvedenko, directed by
Theodora Tolkien. Other collaborations include: The Outlaw Dance
Company, Sacred Fools, Shakespeare By The Sea, Stage 52 and the
Chandler Theater. Regional credits include: Taming of the Shrew as
Hortensio, Shakespeare by the Sea, directed by Stephanie Courtney (CA);
Marvin's Room as Hank, Civic Theater of Hudson County (NY), Deathtrap
as Clifford, Lloyd Shaw Theater (CO).
