Ariel Puls, born in Portland, Oregon, grew up thinking she was going to be a ballerina. Trained at the Oregon Ballet Theatre, she performed in the production of The Nutcracker as a Russian Bonbon. Having her own full character background, she was quite distressed when she found her fellow dancers had no clue about their life story as dancing Russian candies. So ballet soon morphed into a love of acting. With high school drama teachers transforming her shyness into confidence, she went on to train at the University of Portland and met her mentor Mindi Logan. From there she flew to the other corner of the nation to train at Columbia University and subsequently at Stella Adler Studio. Looking forward might not include point shoes anymore, but there’s a passion for more character backgrounds beyond the Russian Bonbon…
