Lena is from Massachusetts, where she performed for nearly two decades in a world-famous stage magic show and Vaudeville family theatre company. Mostly through her long-term involvement in this company, Lena has worked in various creative aspects of theatre production, including acting, dancing, singing, choreography, set design, and costume design.

Lena studied Shakespeare and Ancient Greek at the University of Chicago, where she graduated Phi Beta Kappa. She was drawn to Columbia’s emphasis on classical theater and is deeply grateful to the Columbia faculty for their wisdom and generosity. Lena is proud to be a member of the MFA Acting class of 2013.

Favorite roles include Arkadina, Electra, Geschwitz, Goneril, Hedda Gabbler, Natella Abashwili, Quintana, and St. Joan.
